Water is the source of life. It helps men to feed themselves and countries to develop themselves. Living or surviving is impossible without water. For the inhabitants of developing countries, being short of water means giving up all hope of a better future. In regions where the land is overexploited, there are more and more floods.

Nevertheless, fresh water is rare. Indeed, only 0,3% of the water on our planet can directly be used by man.

To guarantee good quality water on a worldwide long-term basis, we must preserve the eco-systems that stock, filter, purify and redistribute our water. These eco-systems are forests, wet areas and soils. By protecting and managing them along the lines of sustainable development they will remain intact and will continue to play an essential role in the quality of our water and soils for our health and well-being.
Destroying these eco-systems means getting water of poor quality, dried-out soils, erosion and floods.
